Not the person you responded to, but here are my thoughts anyways. Baruch being a CUNY you will see lower income students (and probably more down to earth, but that's again just my opinion). In terms of the student population, you will likely get more middle/upper class income students in a private school. Some future employers will unfortunately pass over a degree from Baruch in favor of a degree from NYU. There's been some discussion about brand recognition, which is all valid. IMO it's better to get into STEM or fine arts or whatever have you, but paying for a business degree is a waste.Īlso FYI, Columbia doesn't have an undergraduate business program. Honestly, as someone who did an undergraduate in business, I'd say business degrees are not worth paying for. Second, you've mentioned you've been accepted to a Stern program. Are you asking the difference between the price tag of public vs private and the quality?
First off NYU's tuition is pretty comparable although probably slightly higher than all other private schools.
